The tutors and leadership team at eXtend Homeschool Tutoral are united in the belief that:
1. Every student has the power to learn
2. Every student is naturally curious and creative
3. Every student has the power to succeed
As a homeschooling parent, you are your student's primary educator, responsible for providing "regular, thorough instruction" to your child. As such, you play a significant role in your student's overall success here at eXtend Homeschool Tutorial. The importance of parental involvement at every level of the homeschooling journey cannot be overstated.
Ours is a partnership with you, your student, and the team of tutors designed to help your students get all they can out of their elementary, middle and high school years. Our goal is to assist you as you prepare your students to reach their God-given potential and fulfill their destiny in Christ.
Thank you so much for asking!
Remaining true to our mission, our tutorial is an extension of your homeschooling journey. Over the years, we have been very intentional about responding to the needs of our families, and many have expressed a desire to stay with our program as their children grow. Because of this, the Lord has allowed us to continue to expand our grades. In 2021 we changed our name from Bridge Elementary Tutorial Homeschool Ministries to eXtend Homeschool Tutorial not only to reflect the change in our tutorial and reflect the growth into high school, but also in an effort to reduce and hopefully eliminate any confusion with other area tutorials.
The Leadership Team of eXtend Homeschool Tutorial, formerly known as BETH-M/BridgeX
The following is the foundation of belief upon which eXtend Homeschool Tutorial is based, and to which the Leadership and tutors adhere, believe, and stand by. These are also the key elements of Christianity that will be unapologetically taught in various ways through all grade levels. This statement is not intended to be a summary of all the truth of Scripture, but to identify specific basic key tenets that we hold.
THE TRINITY: We believe in one God, the only true and living God (Deuteronomy 6:4-5). He is infinite in wisdom and power, worthy of all glory and praise, and is inexpressibly holy. He exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, which are one in essence, yet distinct in person and function (Matthew 28:19).
JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is God the Son. He was conceived by the Virgin Mary through the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit (John 1:1, 14). He suffered and was crucified, dying on a cross as a voluntary substitute for the penalty of our sins. He rose victoriously over death three days later, and lives forever as perfect God and perfect Man (1 Corinthians 15:2-5). He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
HOLY SPIRIT: Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is equal with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature. He was active in the creation of the world and was sent by God to permanently indwell every believer in Christ. He remains active today. He convicts of sin, works in us righteousness, and bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel. He actively seals, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, empowers and helps all believers (John 16; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 1:3-6)
THE BIBLE: All 66 books of the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit represent the only complete, inerrant, and final revelation of the will of God to man. The Bible is the only completely trustworthy guide by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
PEOPLE: God has made every person in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27) for the purpose of accomplishing His work on earth. But because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience, they fell into sin, brought sin upon this world, and as such we are all born into sin (Romans 5:12). As sinners, we are separated from God and, apart from His Grace, we are incapable of choosing or doing anything that would be acceptable to Him (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3).
SALVATION: Salvation is made available to all by grace through faith in Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives. His death on the cross is His gift of forgiveness and deliverance from the wages of sin made available to us. Through our acceptance of His sacrifice, we are reconciled to God the Father. Jesus’s resurrection from the dead is our promise of eternal life with the God the Father. At the moment of salvation, every trusting sinner is born from above (John 5:24) and placed into the family of God (John 1:12). Eternal security is guaranteed by the person and work of Jesus Christ for every true believer.
THE FUTURE: We believe that Christ is coming back, in bodily form, in the same way He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9-11), to receive His people to Himself (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17), and to judge the world. We believe that all people will be bodily resurrected, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to eternal punishment (John 5:28-29).
